Mini brands! repackaging design
The Mini Brands product line is a collectable line of toys/figurines that are miniature replicas of popular store products. The packaging while recyclable is still an excessive use of several layers of plastic and tedious labor.
flatplans for re-packaging
The goal of the redesign was to create a more environmentally friendly packaging that retained the playfulness and excitement of the original packaging. The flatplans keep most of the original design of the exterior the same while adjusting the shape of the container and where certain designs go.
Re-Packaging Design
The excitement of the opening of the packaging is sustained with a pentagon where each compartment can be opening individually to resemble that of an advent calendar design. Additionally, the change in material to a poster board/cardboard exterior make this item more sustainable as those current packages that don’t get recycled will not decompose. These updated designs while less durable, while decompose regardless of whether they are disposed of properly.
